World digital libraries for accessing medieval manuscripts Abstract The aim of the thesis is to describe and compare 10 world digital libraries that make available medieval manuscripts. At the beginning of the work, the trends in accessing medieval manuscripts will be mapped. Attention will also be paid to the International Image Interoperability Framework (IIIF) and the possibilities of its use in digital libraries focused on medieval manuscripts. Digital libraries will be examined and compared on the basis of a checklist. Questions will focus on bibliographic records formats for manuscripts and images, the use of IIIF, and whether individual digital libraries also act as aggregators.
